Fuelling the artistic dreams of Lunenburg County’s youth.
Spark! is a dynamic funding initiative designed to fuel the artistic dreams of Lunenburg County’s youth. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to explore their creativity and develop their artistic talents, regardless of financial limitations.
How we spark creativity
Financial assistance
We provide grants to help youth participate in the arts. Some examples of activity that can be funded include:
- Subsidizing private lessons (music, dance, visual arts, etc.)
- Assisting families with travel expenses for lessons, competitions, or workshops
- Covering costs of accompanists for musicians
- Funding instrument and art material rentals or purchases
A collaboration with the Leanne Children’s Foundation
Spark! operates under the umbrella of the Leanne Children’s Foundation, a private charitable foundation registered with Revenue Canada. Charitable receipts can be provided for donors. For more information, please see their website.

Spark! fosters a cycle of giving
We are committed to building a vibrant arts community in Lunenburg County. One unique aspect of Spark! is our focus on youth giving back. Funds raised through student performances or teacher recitals can be donated back to Spark!, creating a sustainable cycle of support for future generations of young artists.
How to apply for a Spark! grant
Lunenburg County youth can apply for a Spark! grant with the recommendation of their arts teacher. Applications are reviewed based on financial need and artistic merit. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until funds are depleted.
