How to get started

If you are interested in trying out a lesson for yourself or your child, you can book your first lesson online. If there are no times that work for you, please contact Liam to be added to the waiting list.

The first lesson is a chance to meet and see if both the student and the teacher feel it is a good fit. If you decide to continue with lessons, you will receive an invoice for four lessons, including the first lesson. Once the four lessons are completed, you will be asked to pay for the remainder of the term if you wish to continue. Payments can be made via e-transfer to liambrittenmusic@gmail.com, or by cash or cheque.

If after the first trial lesson you decide not to continue, you will not be charged.

If you are interested in occasional lessons, casual lesson spaces are available, especially during the daytime. You can book using the online scheduler. Lessons can be booked and paid for individually this way.

At the first lesson, please bring your instrument and a 3-ring binder. Students do not need to bring amps or cables if they play electric instruments, as these are available in the studio.

Cancellation policy

If you cannot make a lesson, you can cancel by calling or texting 902-210-8965 or by emailing liambrittenmusic@gmail.com.

If Liam cancels a lesson

Your account will be credited the amount of the lesson. This credit can be used for a makeup lesson during the current term, applied toward the following term, or refunded upon request.

If the student cancels a lesson

You have two options. Please notify Liam of your preference as early as possible when you need to cancel.

Switching to online lessons

Students are welcome to opt for an online lesson for any reason. Please notify Liam via email, and a lesson link will be sent to you.

Storm cancellations

Lessons still take place even when school is cancelled. Lessons can be taught online, or in person if you feel comfortable driving. If the weather is severe enough that Liam’s driveway and walkway are unsafe, you will be notified that all lessons will be online. If you choose not to attend an online lesson or receive a practice video, no in-person makeup lesson will be offered.

Refunds and stopping lessons during a term

If you need to stop lessons during a term, Liam reserves the right to issue a refund but will try his best to work with you. In cases of injury, illness, or other uncontrollable circumstances, Liam will credit or refund lessons whenever possible. He will do his best to work with families in the event your situation changes, but please ensure you are committed to the term before signing up.

Terms

Specific dates generally follow the public school calendar and will be provided at the start of each term.
